A Winter Wonderland
This Cali girl finally got to spend a spectacular white winter in California thanks to the Ritz Carlton at Lake Tahoe...
I just got back from spending the weekend at the warm an Ritz Carlton with Pam Hetlinger and Champagne Cochran in Truckee which actually endured the largest snow storm in 20 years while we visited! There was over 96 inches of snow at the Northstar summit! It was nuts, the visibility was extremely low and it was the first snow storm I had ever experienced. The views were breathtaking, and the hotel and it's amenities far surpassed my expectations.
Visit: The Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe
We arrived around noon and spent our first day exploring the hotel and setting in! Once settled, I went to the spa for an incredible full body massage! The massage therapist used organic essential oils to soothe and calm my muscles and mind. They made me want to fall asleep post massage! I crawled out of the warm massage bed and then went to their Wet Spa area to enjoy a steam room and jacuzzi. I felt so rejuvenated! It was such a perfect ending to my day!
Taking it all in...
On our second day, we rode the gondola from our hotel to the Northstar village, walked around for as long as we could stand the cold for, and then ate some yummy food! We had planned to go ice skating, but because of the weather conditions, all of the outdoor activities were closed! I think it would be so cool to come back in the summer time! The temperature can reach up to 90° so it would be beautiful!
The snowy way down...
After our day of exploring the Northstar area, we went to Manzanita for a tasty dinner by the fire! I ordered the Califlower soup, which had truffle shavings and was TO DIE FOR, followed by organic chicken and veggies. For dessert we ordered their Apple Crisp with a caramel sauce and whisky infused ice cream on top! The restaurant was upscale, but also cozy!
Thank you to the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe for the amazing stay.
