How to Practice Being Thankful Everyday

Thanksgiving comes once a year, but each day I try to celebrate something I am thankful for

How to Practice Being Thankful Everyday

Being appreciative and being thankful everyday are two things that I often try to remind myself of. I have always had a soft spot for my parents who have given me an absolutely beautiful upbringing and life, but one thing I struggle with is self-praise and appreciating the climb rather than just the result. I often focus on the ultimate goal, and forget to appreciate each stepping stone. One of my goals for 2018 is to try and live in the moment and try to be on my phone less. I get stuck in the world of social media and often compare myself to others like many women do. One thing I try to remember in these times of comparison is that no two people are the same, and thus no to people will have the same life path. Someone will always have more than you in some way, so rather than compare yourself, why not learn to appreciate what you DO have and channel the any negativity into fuel for a potential goal. Goal-setting is a great skill to practice. Waking up and saying, "I want to do this, I can do this, and I will do this," has a really beneficial effect on the human psyche. Another practice of mine is trying not to talk about myself, since my career consists of me posting photos of myself everyday on the internet, and staying humble. I find humility to be such an attractive and valuable trait. So bottom line: stop comparing, start appreciating, and start living.
