NBC Olympics Opening Social Ceremony
Last night I had the honor to attend and participate in the Opening Social Ceremony of the 2016 Olympics hosted by Ryan Seacrest! Essentially, the Social Opening Ceremony served as a kick-off for NBC's Olympic coverage. On Friday, August 5th, the world will turn their attention to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the games will be hosted. Over 200MM Americans are estimated to tune-in to NBC during the many Olympic events, which would make the 2016 Olympics the largest social media event to date. During the event I got to socialize with Olympians! It was so cool to meet these amazing athletes who represented the USA. They are some of the best at what they do. I have so much respect for their focus and determination.
After chatting with the Olympians I was brought on-stage with some other social media influencers to play a casual game with Ryan Seacrest called "Like it, Love it, or WTF." Every 4 years, the Olympics bring us to a new part of the world where new cultures are shown. Ryan showed us some photos of Brazilian culture and past Olympics and we held up an emoji to express if we liked it, loved it, or didn't know what to make of it (WTF). After the game was finished I got to indulge in some yummy Brazilian cuisine!
Overall, it was an awesome night and I was so happy to be a part of it! Thank you NBC Olympics for having me!
