Well nearly eight months have passed since I’ve moved to Miami and I have yet to share my guest room and living/dining area. We’ve played around with our dining chairs and couch and I think what we have now is my favorite set up! Let’s start with the guest room…

I wanted to create a cozy space with a modern Spanish flair. Let’s start with the rug, it is a jute and wool woven rug with a geometric design from West Elm. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but now I am really into the way it ties the room together. It’s hard to create a cozy feeling space with stark white walls and floors, so I wanted to go with warm tones to hopefully help set a welcoming mood. The bed was actually a floor sample I got for nearly 50% off at Pottery Barn, and it turns out it’s one of their best selling beds! I love the etched wood details. The off-white colored sheets are from Brooklinen and they are incredibly soft and crisp. The throw pillows are all from Jenni Kayne and the light fixture is from Cost Plus World Market. The side table needed to be small since the bathroom is just to the left and I didn’t want it to block the doorway and feel crammed. I found it at Target and I love the dark brown finish, it appears almost black. The baskets on the walls play with the Spanish theme and I purchased them from West Elm. They took a while to come but were worth the wait. My beach setting print is from Gray Malin and it is something I hold near and dear to my heart as it has been in my apartments in New York, Los Angeles, and now here in Miami.

The living room area is a bit of an odd shape so the only layout that worked was the above. The couch we originally purchased from Article did not wear well and started pilling after a month. We splurged on the Restoration Hardware Cloud Sofa in the Performance Textured Linen Weave in White and got two corner arm chairs. I’m SO happy we did. Not only is it the most comfortable couch ever, but the cushion covers are washable and I can just throw them in the wash if Rex jumps up there a little dirty! The ottoman was a one off I found online and had to call the store and arrange my own shipping to Miami… Don’t ask, it was a nightmare but the furniture company is called Rowe Fine Furniture. I love the texture and colors of the ottoman and played around with a wood tray with some books. For under the TV, I didn’t want to get a standard media console because I felt it would look very heavy against the marble floors. The whole place is white and modern and I wanted to bring some organic elements into it. I opted for two, 6-foot floating shelves in unfinished oak to create a natural, beachy feel. I’m really happy with how it turned out and am always getting complements on it. I also saved money not getting a huge console, a WIN for sure.

I absolutely love our little dining nook. The photos just don’t do it justice! Our gorgeous tulip dining table is from Eternity Modern. It is their Calcutta Quartz Tulip Table in 48 inches. The way the table looks is striking and the stone just reflects the light so beautifully. It does not stain nor get any water rings, and I work from here almost everyday. The chairs are from Gingko Home Furnishings, but they were a HUGE pain to put together. They all have a small flaw under the left arm where the leg and top arm would not align in order for me to screw them together, so I just left them as they were and honestly they have been extremely comfortable. For the price, they were worth it (pair around $400). I love candles and almost always have one burning, I recently did a candle haul and review over on my YouTube, linking that HERE.

Lastly, I wanted to share custom art piece that spans across our hallway. Harry had it commissioned and we are so obsessed with it! It’s a great conversation starter and even includes a little drawing of Rex! On the right you’ll find our “den” area which isn’t very big, but it was the perfect size to get a Tonal home gym. I use the Tonal about three times a week and it is a strength training machine that uses electro-magnetic energy to build resistance and be used as weights. The Tonal is an incredibly advanced machine and calibrates your weights based on your actual strength. It also has yoga, dance, pilates, barre, and other workout programs. There you have it! There are a few other nooks I’ll eventually share but that is pretty much it! If you haven’t seen my bedroom or Harry’s office be sure to have a look, I’ve done posts on both of them! Speak soon! xx
