Lollapalooza x Chicago Recap

Lollapalooza had it's 25th anniversary this year at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois and I collaborated with Lord & Taylor to bring you some amazing festival style! The festival was 4 days long, but I only attended 3 days. Over the weekend I took over the Lord & Taylor Instagram page to give you the inside scoop on the festival! I also posted a ton on my page because I loved the outfits they provided me! Other than the fact that it rained the majority of the time and there was no cell service, the festival was very fun. It was very different than previous festivals I have attended because unlike Coachella and those that are in the middle of a desert, I was able to listen to my favorite artists perform right under the bright and big Chicago skyline! I also had access to some of backstage thanks to my friends over at Loudie App :) My favorite performances were J Cole, Rufus du Sol, Oliver Heldens, 2 Door Cinema Club and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Exploring Chicago outside of the festival:

Accommodations & activities: I arrived in Chicago a day before the festival and had a full day to explore! I acted as a tourist since it was my first time in the city and visited The Bean, Chicago 360 (view at Hancock tower), and I walked around on Michigan Avenue and went shopping.  I stayed at the beautiful Langham Hotel which was central and very luxurious!

FOOD: Since I was in the Chicago, I had to try their famous deep dish pizza, so I went off of recommendations and tried the traditional deep dish at Uno Pizzeria. It had cheese, sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, onion, mushrooms, and tomato sauce. It was AH-mazing! I also tried my fair share of burgers in the Windy City. My favorite was at Au Cheval, a small and hip restaurant located in the West Loop area. I waited over an hour just to get seated but after seeing photos I knew it would be worth it. The burger was so flavorful and juicy, my mouth is watering while writing about it! One alone was enough for two people because it was a double cheeseburger with spread, pickles, think-cut bacon, and a fried egg. Au Cheval also has a specialty brunch item of scrambled eggs with foie gras and toast which I had to try and it was unbelievable! Before Au Cheval, I tried Luxe Bar and they had a good burger as well. I tried M Burger while at Lollapalooza which I thought was great too! Before I left, I went to the famous Eataly Chicago and got lemon and mango sorbet! If you have never been to an Eataly before, it is an Italian market and eatery that has a Nutella Counter, Italian sandwich counter, gelato bar, and coffee bar to name a few. Everything there is amazing and very traditional. It is definitely worth checking out if you are ever in Chicago or New York. Lastly, I found a small coffee shop in the West Loop area called Sawada while I was waiting for my table at Au Cheval. It was very industrial and had great coffee. It shared an open area with a large bar and meat counter. I would also say this was worth going to since it felt like it was mostly locals in the environment!
