Miami Master Bedroom

You guys! I am so excited to share my new bedroom with you! Harry and I fell in love with the view from this room and honestly it sold us on renting this unit. The floor to ceiling windows, the enormous amounts of natural light, it’s a total dream. We wanted to create a space that was clean and modern but also warm. Sometimes modern spaces feel a bit cold, so it was important to make sure this room felt cozy. We love the way our Ben Soleimani Distressed wool rug really ties the space together. It’s so soft and the high quality wool it is constructed from gives me the confidence it will last for years to come.

Now that I have touched on the rug, let’s work our way up! These nightstands from Wayfair are awesome! They look like Restoration Hardware for a fraction of the cost and they have a “smart” feature with two USB outlets for easy charging! It says assembly required online but there was no assembly required and it didn’t even include the fact that they had the smart charging feature in the description. WHAT A WIN!

All the decor on the nightstands is a mixture of Target, Zara Home, Amazon, and Lilah Lifestyle Co.

Our dreamy and plush bed is from Arhaus. The quality is unmatched for the fair price and I love the cushioned headboard. Truly a must for those who watch tv in bed like us. We went with the King size, there is no box spring required, and their timing was accurate online, it took a full 8 weeks to come. I can tell you honestly, it was worth the wait. It comes in grey too.

Our soft and crisp white linen bedding is from Brooklinen and we absolutely love it. The sheets are their original cotton percale but we opted for a linen duvet color with matching linen pillow cases. The gorgeous taupe boucle throw blanket and charcoal throw pillows are from Jenni Kayne and really add the perfect amount of warmth and contrast to the bed.

Moving onto the walls, if you were keeping up with my Instagram stories you would’ve seen the wallpaper nightmare I so painfully endured. Our walls were not perfectly prepped prior to painting which often happens in newer buildings that are finished quickly. Basically, when our wallpaper installer installed the first strip, our wall bubbled like crazy and the paint actually separated from the drywall, he had to remove that strip, sand the wall, prime the wall, paint the wall, and then he could finally install the wallpaper. Unfortunately for us, the piece he had used was not salvageable and because of that, we were short wallpaper and I had to order another roll. In the end, it cost me a fortune and it would’ve been cheaper to just Venetian plaster the wall, which was the look I was going for. Lesson learned. I’m so happy with how it came out and I truly love this wallpaper, our walls were just not equipped for it from the start.

Moving right along to the side mirrors from Wayfair. I loved that these mirrors were a bit larger than your typical 2 x 3 feet. These mirrors are actually 24 x 40 inches. They are currently sold out, but keep checking this link and when they come back into stock you will be able to see! The SKU is W001492684.

Finally, we have our Serge Mouille replica light fixture. I have been a fan of these '“chandeliers” for so long and I was just waiting until we had the space for one of these beauties. Ours took about 10 weeks to come (obvi from China) from a website called ByBespoek, and it was the exact measurements as the original which retails for thousands of dollars. I think we saved about $100 ordering it from them instead of Wayfair, but Wayfair is 10x more reliable should anything happen to your light in transport or you want to return it. I found it on Wayfair in the same measurements in both black and white here. I love our light fixture but our ceiling was not fitted for it so we used a white box, that was part of our previous light fixture, in order to install it. It’s not perfect, but whatever, nothing in life is!

And there you have it, our complete master bedroom! I hope you’ve been enjoying following along our design process! Still to come: Living/Dining Room, Gym, and more!

Til next time,

Julia
