NYFW SS20 Part One

This past week I have been in the Big Apple running around to events, talks, and shows to learn about fashion trends, business strategies, and more. NYFW is really what you make of it, I know my limits and I am not one to over exert myself so I pick and chose what I attend to best maximize my time and experience in my former home. I partnered with Glamsquad to get my hair and makeup done each day and it was seriously such a luxury and completely hassle-free. They do such an amazing job in less than an hour for full hair and makeup! They are available in most major US cities, and you can book an appointment in minutes via the Glamsquad app. Appointments start at the price of just $35, great gift idea if you ask me! For $25 off your first treatment, use code jfriedman6459. Anyways, back to NYFW… In this post, I wanted to recap the first few days and give you the option to shop my looks as well as shop pieces to recreate the looks for less!

Look 1

One of my favorite online retailers Shopbop is having a pop-up at 106 Spring Street in Soho for the month of September. The space is absolutely stunning and full of the best pieces in fashion at the moment. The shoe wall will leave you speechless! If you’re in the area I highly recommend checking it out! For their launch event, I wore this IRO dress with fun greenish/yellow LPA strappy heels! This Susan Alexandra bag is a super fun piece that I pulled from the pop-up to shoot with my look!

For this look, I partnered with Needle & Thread London to put together a fun and chic floral look. The exact dress is linked here. What Goes Around Comes Around, a curated vintage designer website, allowed me to borrow this stunning Chanel Rubik’s Cube bag, how cool is that?! The shoes are from Dear Frances. I’ve linked similar styles below, as the exact ones are sold out.

The highlight of the week for me was attending the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party with Belvedere Vodka. This party is one of the most iconic (no pun-intended) parties in New York each year put on by Carine Roitfeld. It was a star-studded night with A-list celebrities everywhere I looked. I was suffering from Imposter Syndrome the ENTIRE night, but I got by with the help of some really awesome bloggers and enjoyed myself at the Plaza Hotel. This stunning dress is from Pronovias which they generously loaned me for the affair. Hair and makeup by Glamsquad, and they absolutely crushed it! Borrowed these earrings from one of my friends and they cost under $30, how insane?! They look like super expensive diamonds. All you need is a good eye while you are shopping, and you can make anything look expensive when paired with complimentary pieces.

Look 4

This look I put together from a Mother Denim graphic tee and an Aritzia slip skirt. Aritzia makes my favorite silk slip dresses and skirts because they don’t crease! I finished the look with this sick Fendi trench that I pulled from What Goes Around Comes Around, and the mini Dior saddle bag I found at a thrift store in NYC for $200! The Dear Frances Mules are sold out, but I will link a similar pair below!
